Biography

Vincent Gullo was born in Seraing, Belgium in 1980. He started to play the piano when he was 5 years old. He first studied music at the academy of music in Seraing. Later on, he entered the Liège Royal Music Conservatory, at the age of 17. His first piano teacher was Jo Alfidi who taught him classical music. Three years later he received his first piano prize as one of Jean Schils’ students. Vincent spent 10 years in the Liège Conservatory. He had quite a hard time studying harmony but finally managed to integrate the necessary knowledge to feed his creativity and enable him to start composing music.

In 2004, he finally got a first prize in writing and analysing music (stylistic approach of Brahms and Schumann). Vincent has always loved classical music; it was – and still is – part of his daily life. But he soon felt attracted by Pop and Jazz music too. He broadened his musical background thanks to his first experiences on stage and in studios. But still, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Mahler kept influencing him. He finally found his deepest inspiration in the Italian music, which he has always heard since he was a child. Vincent had already composed and arranged songs at the age of 18. He presented his first songs at the Belgian festival for Italian songs and received three awards (2000-2001-2003) in the category “composer and singer”. His musical path led him to meet different people and learn from various stage experiences. In 1999, he became a musical accompanist in singing classes and a piano teacher at the Academy of Music “Amélie Dengis” in Seraing. Since he wanted to share his interest for Pop music, he suggested that a section “variety piano” should be opened.

Nowadays, Vincent is still managing that section. Apart from teaching, Vincent Gullo regularly plays on stage, which he definitely loves. He had the opportunity to play in 4 musicals in the Netherlands (Sister Act, little shop of horror, Famous, Shrek/ kumulus Maastricht).

In 2008, he met Lara Fabian, with whom he had the opportunity to go on tour. They played “toutes les femmes et moi” – piano/voice, on the nicest stages of Russia, Ukraine and even Israel. In February 2015, he had the great pleasure to accompany her to the Italian song festival of Sanremo – a real boon! Vincent Gullo is a polyvalent musician.

He is currently producing pop music and working on symphonic arrangements of his album « Miracle of Light ». He will soon most convincingly perform his compositions with an orchestra and express his passion for film music.
